Boho Wall of Art!

Boho is an unconventional way to display art made popular in the 19th century by the Europeans.  To achieve this style you combine art, music and literature with things you collect on your travels. For instance below is a picture on the left that I drew when I was 6 years old of one of my favorite places that I visited in Spain, La Mancha. I visited La Mancha nearly 50 years later and took a picture of it on the right side of this photo.

It is best when you do not use matching frames. The rest of the pictures are of Don Quixote whose story I grew up with as a little girl. His story took place in La Mancha. I have pictures of him that I purchased from an artist in Madrid. A picture of a man dressed up as Don Quixote when I visited Malaga, Spain. Prints that I found online. Prints that I purchased at an auction. And a large print by Salvador Dahli that I was given by a client who commissioned me to do photographs and loved my work.

In 2007, when I visited Spain I went to Picasso's home and purchased a small plate with my favorite piece that he did of Don Quixote. I had been given an opportunity to purchase that print when I worked for a gallery in 1988 but I had young children and didn't feel it was a priority so I passed it up. I was thrilled to be able to get this plate from his home instead.

On one of my trips to Spain I also purchased a small wooden statue of Don Quixote for my collection.

The best part of Boho Decor is using all your favorite books. The combination of art, music and literature is the heart and soul of this decor.
