Recycle Plastic Shopping Bags For Halloween!
I cut each plastic grocery bag into 3 parts to wrap candies for Halloween and tied them up with beads & ribbon or fall leaves. It is another great way to reuse shopping bags from anywhere and to make some cute bags of treats to give out to the kids that come by to trick or treat!

Halloween Art!
I cut a recycled water bottle and bend the legs to resemble a spider.
The I use Krylon black spray paint outdoors to paint the bottles leaving the bottle top on.
Then I use Elmer's glue on the top of the cap to glue two eyeballs.
Once it is all done I hang them on white painted tree limbs that I stick right in the dirt in my flower bed and hang the spiders on with fishing line. They move in the wind and look wonderful.
It will look great when I add small fairy lights so they can light up at night for Halloween.
Easy to make and fun for the Trick or Treaters!

Making A Life Size Candy Land Game!
First of all I cut 3 holes in pillow cases for my grandkids to help me paint. These make great smocks for the mess. I bought all different color spray paints and stepping stones for the yard.
I had the kids paint all the stepping stones on top of a brown paper roll. Once they were dry I laid the stones in a path.

Once I had the path laid out then I began to decorate with all the seasons that I already had decorations such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Birthdays, Valentines, etc. If you don't already have those things then the party store is a place to find things for your candy land.
Having this in our yard made the kids want to play outside and kept them entertained too! Plus my grandson liked it so much he had one of his birthday parties here too.

Beautiful Book Covers!
I love books and I especially love to cover them in beautiful fabrics. This is a sample piece of fabric that I made sure was a little bigger than the book. All I did was sew the top and bottom folded part of the fabric. My mom may not remember this but she used to cover my books and I still have some of my books with those covers she put on there 50 years ago. That is actually where I got the idea.
It is so simple to do and looks so beautiful sitting on my table.

Lovely Letters!
I purchased wooden letters at Michael's and used gorilla glue for the fabric that I added to the wood. The letters can be placed on the back of the fabric and traced with a pencil or pen for cutting. Then use a small paint brush to spread the glue equally.

Ribbon Floral Art!
I had a lot of mint green ribbon left over from a project and decided to do something fun and artsy!
I watched a YouTube tutorial on how to crochet with your fingers and practiced on this ribbon. Once I got a lot of the ribbon done then I began to sew it together to make a flower with a stem and leaves. I added pearls to the flower by sewing them in or you can use a hot glue gun. I made all sizes of flowers and decided to hot glue them to a large black mirror I had in my room to give it a little bit of an artsy look.

Curtains Boho Style!
To achieve the Boho style you have to think outside the box! I began with a couple of hooks I had picked up at Anthropology. That is the best place to go for a boho inspiration. I picked up 2 hooks with ceramic flowers which reminded me so much of a french chandelier I loved when I visited Vizcaya in Miami which was loaded with those same ceramic flowers.
I also had 2 beautiful table cloths that had been sent to me from Spain and were very worn out. I loved the table cloths but they were way beyond being able to be used again. I didn't have the heart to throw out because they brought me fond memories such as my daughters wedding where I used one of them. So I cut them into strips to hang and found a beautiful gold piece of cloth that I would need to make it complete.
When I look at my beautiful curtains covering my french doors I go back to some memorable places. Vizcaya, Spain, my daughters wedding, holidays and special times with family and friends.....Boho style is all about reflecting your own journey of life!
